Re: First Car..........
I know she wants yellow, but to be fair the NCAP rating should be the first selection criteria; My mum had one of the small citroens and the bonnet folded when our cat jumped on it. The cat was an egyptian tabby without a smudge of excess weight. Hate to think what would have happened in a real crash.

Sorry for your loss Bods, always hits hard but eased by knowing it was the right thing to do as your final gift.
Shame we still have so much hassle doing this for the people we love too, though with some of the scheming gits I've met in my life I can understand why we cannot.

A moth flies into a dentist's office. He sits on the chair and the dentist asks him "Can I help you?" The moth answers "Well I've been cheating on my wife with a spider. Things are rough at home, the kids are 5 and 3, the young one is having a really hard time communicating and it's making him very ...

Re: D4 ATF Change
I take it the thermostat is buried deep inside the bowels of the transmission and cannot be temporarily removed like you would a water one? Or if it's a controlled solenoid valve rather than a wax disc, perhaps IID can convince it to open? Just thinking out loud. Stu; how easy is it to access the su...

Re: Timing Belt Locking Pins ....
I'm not aware that the club has such a set, but unless you're a real expert at changing the belts without accidentally moving the crankshaft, you'll also need to lock the flywheel which requires an extra part. On an Automatic, that involves removing the starter motor so you can reach the ring-gear. ...

Re: Home made DC-DC battery charger
Well, I finally got some time, got some new bits, and then smoked some more bits (primarily as the instructions didn't match the product and in one case was a voltage reducer not booster) , so I got some better bits and it seems like the principal is at least sound. My booster is good for up to 10A ...
