Re: Faults

I honestly can't remember - coming up to 8 years ago now and I can't remember what I did last week!

I do know I didn't replace the ECU or transfer box - but I did at some point have the alternator and battery fail - but not a clue when it was compared to this event.

Re: Stability control

Might have to calibrate the steering angle sensor - as well as the usual tyre pressures and possibly tracking (As that can throw the steering angle sensor out)

Re: Rear Anti Roll Bar Links

From memory it can be a pain in the arse as there is at least one bolt that is very hard to get access to to get it undone. It might even be easier to lift the body slightly.

Re: Air suspension trouble

You have a leak somewhere by the sounds of it - and valve blocks need either replacing or stripping and cleaning. Also worth checking the air tank for leaks.

Re: Re con vs new engine

Just replied to your first post!

Yep cranks can go on the replacement engines - but it is less common than you would think from the forums as only the problems are reported.

A proper reman engine as I said before has a 2 year warranty.

Alternatives are to fit a V8 - but that is a lot of work

Re: Welcome to Disco3Club - Introduce yourself

Welcome! :hello: I assume that the D4 you are looking at has a blown engine? If it was me, I'd get a Landrover crated reman'd engine - gets you a 2 year warranty for a start. Where abouts are you in the country as there are a few places recommended to get it fitted if you aren't doing it yourself.

Re: Sqeaking

Probably - which type did you get as I think there are at least two different hardnesses - and the hard can be too hard for the amount of flex the car has.

Must admit I only ever fitted OEM on mine.

Re: Air suspension FNS

Its actually a very simple DIY - I did all 4 of mine (I would replace as a pair at least) in less than a day.

Don't think this is the sort of work Bodsy does but given where you are it would be worth trying Tim McKnight at Alltrack4x4 in Malvern. 01886 880905

Re: Limp mode and error codes

Nothing there is particularly an issue. Might need a better code reader, specific to LR.

Any smoke? Or just gutless? Could be turbo, fuel pressure or loads of other things. Sorry for no real help!

Re: Bonnet alarm

Have you tried shorting the bonnet switch out? If that works then its the switch or its position. If that doesn't work then its the wiring somewhere. Not that helpful!
